You can tackle a kids bathroom makeover and make the space more kid friendly in the process, without any major renovations. The key to doing so is getting down on their level. Literally.
Get on your knees or squat down and look around the bathroom. Make sure that some of the items you plan to add are placed at your children’s eye level and within easy reach. Lower the towel rack or add another one beneath your existing rack. You can dress up both racks with personalized hand towels.
This creates a more interesting look than one plain towel bar hanging alone. It gives you the opportunity to both customize and personalize the space for your child. The best kids bathroom makeover focuses on things that make kids feel like the space was designed just for them.
Beside the towels, you can add some coordinating personalized artwork. On another wall, place a piece of framed artwork made by your own little artist. Have him or her use colors that coordinate with your new bathroom design and paint the frame you plan to use so it matches.
If you don’t want to paint the entire bathroom, consider doing some color blocks instead. Tape off a square, or any other shape, and fill it in with a color that will complement or contrast with the predominant color in the new space. If you’d rather not paint the walls at all, cover large canvases with fabric or paint and hang them to help make the room more cohesive and colorful.
Add colored soaps, a throw rug or bath mat, and some other fun accessories to complete your kids bathroom makeover.
